Volume Restoration And Beautification With Dermal Fillers

Strategically placed hyaluronic acid dermal fillers do not just fill, they also lift and support facial ligaments giving you a natural-looking lifted appearance

How Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers Work?

The biggest change in the aging face is sagging and volume loss. As we age, we lose fat, and the facial bones become smaller, causing sagging and hollow skin. As we age;

  • Skin loses its elasticity and thins out.
  • Superficial fat might increase in volume.
  • Deep fat and bone atrophy, resulting in a loss of support for the upper layer of fat and skin.
  • Retaining ligaments of the face (that attach overlying fat and skin tautly to bone) loosen and lengthen, worsening tissue droop.

The hyaluronic acid dermal filler supports the structural ligaments in our faces. Four ligaments in our face run from bone to skin, and they support the different compartments of our face. We strategically place hyaluronic acid dermal fillers under the ligament locations to help lift and support them. The result is a natural-looking lifted and refreshed appearance.

Common Areas Treated With Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler

One of the most common areas treated with hyaluronic acid dermal filler is the lips and the surrounding perioral area. Thin, deflated lips and the presence of vertical lip lines can make us look older and less vibrant. By strategically injecting hyaluronic acid filler into the lips, it is possible to add volume, enhance shape, and create a more defined and youthful appearance. Additionally, addressing the perioral area with filler can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, giving a fresher and rejuvenated look.

Another popular usage of hyaluronic acid dermal filler is to correct the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Nasolabial folds are the lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth, while marionette lines extend from the corners of the mouth downwards towards the chin. These lines can deepen with age, making the face appear tired and aged. By injecting hyaluronic acid filler into these areas, it is possible to soften these lines, restore volume, and achieve a more youthful look.

Loss of volume in the cheeks and mid-face can lead to a gaunt and tired appearance. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be used to restore volume, enhance the cheeks, and lift the mid-face, giving a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. By strategically injecting filler into these areas, it is possible to create a natural-looking lift, restore facial contours, and achieve a more balanced and harmonious facial appearance.

Under-eye hollows and tear troughs can give a tired and aged appearance, making us look older than we actually are. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be carefully injected in these areas to fill the hollows, reduce dark circles, and provide a rejuvenated and refreshed look. By addressing under-eye concerns with filler, it is possible to achieve a more rested and youthful appearance.

The Dermal Filler Injections Faq

How long they last depends on things like the type of filler and where it’s injected and your metabolism. They usually last between 8 and 18 months. Even if you have fillers, the rest of your face will continue to age as normal.

The process of having dermal fillers administered does not generally cause any considerable discomfort. That said, some people may experience side effects following treatment, which may include some swelling, redness, skin sensitivity, and tenderness.

Sleeping on your back is the safest position after any cosmetic procedure. The first night after your treatment, sleep with your head elevated (propped up with an extra pillow) to help avoid/reduce swelling and to ensure that the newly-injected filler stays in place.

Swelling will reach its peak at around 24-72 hours after treatment, at which point, it will begin to gradually subside. Occasionally, swelling can last for 1-4 weeks, but this isn’t as common. Most people do see an improvement within 5 days.

Dermal filler doesn’t ‘normally’, move after treatment. Immediately after treatment, in certain areas of the face, I do gently massage the area/s that were injected to help mold the product and prevent lumps. It does take about 2 weeks for the filler to settle and integrate into the tissue.
